Visit of Maksym Tymoshenko to the Giuseppe Verdi Milan Conservatory

As part of his working trip to Italy, Maksym Tymoshenko, president of the UNTAM, paid an official visit to the Giuseppe Verdi Milan Conservatory, which was founded in 1807 at the initiative of Napoleon Bonaparte, underscoring the institution’s importance in the European cultural heritage.

Maksym Tymoshenko’s visit marked an important step in strengthening international ties between two of Europe’s leading music institutions.
The academies are united not only by shared professional values but also by historical figures. Giacomo Puccini, a graduate of the Milan Conservatory, drew inspiration from Solomiya Krushelnytska — the renowned Ukrainian singer who became his muse. Solomiya Krushelnytska’s nephew, the world-famous composer Myroslav Skoryk, was a professor at our Academy.
During the meeting, Maksym Tymoshenko signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Conservatory’s Director, Massimiliano Baggio. The document outlines plans for the development of music education, joint artistic projects, and support for Ukrainian students in Europe.
As a token of gratitude for their assistance to Ukrainian students, the Rector of the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine presented honorary awards to Director Massimiliano Baggio and to the Head of the International Department, Riccardo Ceni.
