Maksym Tymoshenko Awarded the Order of the Star of Italy

Maksym Tymoshenko, Rector of the National Music Academy of Ukraine (UNTAM), has been awarded the state distinction of the Italian Republic – the Order of the Star of Italy (Ordine della Stella d’Italia) in the rank of Knight (Cavaliere).
On August 28, 2026, a solemn award ceremony was held at the official residence of the Ambassador of the Italian Republic to Ukraine in Kyiv. The distinction was presented to Maksym Tymoshenko on behalf of the President of the Italian Republic by the Ambassador of Italy to Ukraine.
The Order of the Star of Italy is one of the highest state distinctions of the Italian Republic. It is awarded to foreign citizens for outstanding contributions to the development of friendly relations and cooperation with Italy, as well as for strengthening international cultural and professional ties.

The recognition of Maksym Tymoshenko is an acknowledgment of his contribution to the development of Ukrainian music education, culture, and international cultural cooperation.
As Rector of UNTAM, Maksym Tymoshenko represents one of Ukraine’s leading centers of professional music education and contributes to the development of the Academy’s international relations, particularly in the area of cultural and educational partnerships with European countries.
The award holds special significance in light of Maksym Tymoshenko’s professional and family legacy. He is the son of the distinguished Ukrainian cultural figure and longtime Rector of the Kyiv Conservatory, Oleh Semenovych Tymoshenko, continuing the tradition of dedicated service to Ukrainian musical culture and education.
The award ceremony was an important event for Ukraine’s musical community and demonstrated the high regard for the contribution of Ukrainian cultural figures to the development of international dialogue.
