Meeting with the Ambassador of India to Ukraine, Ravi Shankar

As part of the International Forum “Ukraine-India: Sound Movements of the Centuries,” a meeting was held between the Ambassador of India to Ukraine, Ravi Shankar, and the faculty and staff of the UNTAM headed by president Maksym Tymoshenko.
This was the first visit of the Indian Ambassador to the Kyiv Conservatory, during which the Ambassador was introduced to the activities of the Music Academy, its history and its educational process.
The opening of the forum “Ukraine-India: Sound Movements of the Centuries” took place in the foyer of the OlegTymoshenko Hall. As is customary, the opening speech was given by the president of the Academy, Maksym Tymoshenko, who thanked the Indian Ambassador for supporting Ukrainian students. In turn, Ravi Shankar spoke about the unifying elements of the cultures of the two countries, which have a long and rich history.
The Ambassador was interested in the development of relations between Ukraine and India in the fields of music culture and education, noting that during president Oleg Tymoshenko’s tenure, Indian students studied at the Kyiv Conservatory.
The Indian Ambassador expressed hope for the restoration of good traditions and the strengthening of partnership ties with the UNTAM.
